Did you know that Microsoft are ending support for Windows XP in April 2014? This is big news for a large number of businesses throughout the UK.
It does’t mean that Windows XP systems will stop functioning, however, you should be aware of these VERY IMPORTANT facts:
- No more security updates
- No more hot fixes
- No more support from Microsoft
The first point is the most relevant, without security updates Windows XP is dead in the water.
Now I don’t want to start a ‘Millennium Bug’ sized panic, but this is a big deal. If you haven’t already considered upgrading to Windows 7 or 8, then now is the time. It doesn’t have to cost the earth for a new system, and, in all honesty, with the boost in speed and performance it will most likely pay for itself within a year – if not in monetary value then in sanity!
Please don’t wait, you just don’t have the time. Start thinking about it now as the sooner you act, the less stressful it can/will be.
If you would like to discuss this in more detail, please don’t hesitate to call me. I’d be very happy to talk through any concerns you may have.
